| CPI for November and December 2005 |
Department of Statistics
Consumer Price Index for November 2005 and December 2005
The Consumer Price Index, often called the CPI, is one of the most widely used statistical series produced by the Department of Statistics (DOS). The CPI measures changes in the general level of prices of consumer goods and services purchased by private households. It is used as a tool for the adjustment of wages and salaries, by employers and labour unions. Many other forms of price-setting agreements, like rents, insurance premiums, etc. are often tied to the movements in the CPI. For the government, the CPI is an important gauge for assessing current economic performance and for formulating and evaluating economic policy.
Should you have any questions, you may contact Mrs. Kim Saunders at the Department of Statistics.
