Commercial Fishing Licence

Commercial fishing is defined as fishing for any fishery resource for the purpose of subsequent sale or benefit whether it is done on a full-time or part-time basis. Current fisheries legislation stipulates that only Bahamian owned crafts can legally fish commercially within Bahamian waters. Any vessel that is 20 feet or larger that is used for commercial fishing must be licenced.


Commercial Recreation Watercraft Reg Form II

Every person desirous of operating a craft for hire shall apply to the Authority and shall furnish all relevant particulars and make any relevant declarations specified in Form II of the Third Schedule to these Regulations.

The craft must be inspected and owner must have a valid licence for registration to be complete.

Dog License Application

Dogs that roam from home risk being impounded and running up a high bill for their stay. If a dog is found to be a nuisance and is picked up by the police or the Animal Control Unit, owners can face a fine of $100.00 or imprisonment for twenty days.

Marriage Licence Application

Anyone wishing to be married in the Bahamas must first request a license from the Registry.

The legal age of marriage in the Bahamas is eighteen (18).

A marriage license is valid for three months.


Marriage Officers Application Form

The Registrar General, the Deputy Registrar, Assistant Registrar, Family Island Administrators or Commissioners, and Supreme Court Magistrates are Marriage Officers by virtue of their appointment. Justices of the Peace are not Marriage Officers although there are certain Marriage Officers who are Justices of the Peace.

A Vendor applying for the use of public space is charged a norminal fee based on the application. Such sporting events as Regattas, Beerfests, etc. are charged on a graduated scale starting from $50.00 with an upper limit of $1,000.00. Medical, Educational and Fire relief activities are free.
