APPLICATION FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCE

The following documents are needed to process this application:
  • A cover letter of request;
  • This application must be completed in duplicate;
  • Two (2) passport size photographs in colour with name printed on reverse side;
  • Original birth certificate (Bahamian) or certified copy (foreign) with English translation, sealed by the appropriate Consulate Office where applicable, with a $4.00 Bahamian stamp affixed to the translation;
  • Original police certificate (issued not more than six (6) months prior to the submission of the application);
  • Original medical certificate (not more than thirty (30) days prior to the submission of the application);
  • Two original character references by Bahamian known to applicant for at least five (5) years);
  • Financial reference (citing a figure range, and verifying economic worth) from a reputable bank or financial institution;
  • Parents' birth or marriage certificate (where applicable);
  • If applicant is/was married, he/she is also required to submit an original certified copy of marriage certificate, spouse's birth/death certificate, legal separation document or divorce decree if applicable.

  • Instructions:

    1.Please print form on legal size paper and complete.
    2.Submit this form along with specified supporting documents to The Department of Immigration, local Immigration office or to the Family Island Administrator in your area. The form must be notarized by a Justice of the Peace, with a four dollar ($4.00) Bahamian postage stamp affixed thereon.

    $100.00 PROCESSING FEE / money order payable to the Public Treasury.
